Nasty

Well I thought the queasiness was gone...I was wrong. Now the problem is that nothing tastes good or sounds good. And the less I eat, the worse I feel. This has led to weird impulse eating and repetitive food choices. I am told this will go away...it had better.

I officially bought my first maternity clothes! My goal was to get a tshirt to do a little craft project with. Thanks to Holly for the awesome T, even if it was a bit tiny! The best bet though was to get a maternity Tee, since the purpose was to wear it when pregnant. I'll put a picture up when my mom and I are through. I also got a professional bra fitting this week and was astounded by the letter the lady said I was! Even though it's kinda pointless to buy a nice bra right now, as I'll be growing quite a bit in the months to come, I got a half off deal so I ordered the cup size larger even to allow some room to grow.

In more humorous news, Derek and I got our cat, Gizzy, shaved! She has really long hair and now only does it shed all around the house, but it's quite unsanitary around her southern quadrant, and she pukes up hairballs way to often. So we went in to get her a lion shave (leave the head, tail, and feet alone). She was rather unhappy about this decision and the poor groomer only got about 2/3 done. She also suggested tranquilizers. So at the beginning of the month we will get some drowzy pills for her and take her back in to finish up. Luckily she's really not all that fat under all that fur! We haven't failed too terribly as pet owners! More to come later.

3 Months!

Today is the start of Month 3 for me! The queasiness has almost completely subsided, now it's just the horrendous gas at night. :) We've already gotten a call from the Oregon Health Plan people and it looks like they are in the process of processing our application already! Hopefully we'll be approved soon and I can go in to a doctor and see what's up!

those other symptoms

Aside from the queasiness, many other symptoms have started to show their unusual faces. I'm congested like none other. I think this has a lot to do with the fact that before I got pregnant I took a mild allergy pill every morning. Though most websites say the the type I take is totally fine, I've been limiting all my pharmaceuticals except vitamins. So I've been turning on extra fans at night but I'm still stuffy all day and even got a minor bloody nose last night. And then there's gas. Sure it's better than puking, but not so pleasant for those around me. I'm also a total lame-o and can't stay up hardly as late as I used to. I couldn't even stay up till midnight on new years. But even though I go to bed early I'm still having a lot of problems sleeping, whether it been the stuffiness of the room, horrendous restless legs, or my arm that's still not completely better. Now see usually I would just take numerous different pills and supplements to alleviate these issues.

Aside from the griping though, it really is starting to sink in that there's a life inside me. The exciting time of telling everyone the good news (and 300 women at Curves as well!) , and many congratulations is slowing down a bit and that's a-ok with me. There's only so many times you can tell the same story and at work I feel like that's all I do all day long. (Not to mention the advice from every woman I talk to!) We've applied for OHP already and are just waiting for confirmation. We've been doing a lot of looking ahead as well in terms of derek getting a new job, getting a 2nd car, and moving to a 2-bedroom apt. It's a lot to digest but I got that superhero mom thing going where I will make it work no matter what!

morning sickness?

So far I have been able to keep food down! I'm queasy quite a bit but nothings gone further than that. It seems as though every other day is a good day. Then the alternate days kinda suck. I don't know why that is, but today's a good day so I can't complain. Grammy Tami's been going pretty hogwild with the baby shopping so far, but Derek's just as antsy to get to the store and get all the fun baby gadgets! In a couple days we'll be moving up to blueberry size!
